Tyler Cook: Career-best effort off bench
Cook scored 17 points (7-8 FG, 3-4 FT) while adding five rebounds, one assist and one block in 34 minutes off the bench during Friday's loss to the Nuggets.
The Scoop: The second-year big set new career highs in minutes and points with the performance. The rebuilding Pistons have given him a long look as a rotation piece in May, but it hasn't translated into consistent production for Cook. He's scored in double digits in four of the last eight games but totaled only 11 points in the other four.

Tyler Cook: Seeing jump in minutes
Cook scored 13 points (6-6 FG, 1-4 FT) to go along with three rebounds and one assist across 16 minutes in Monday's loss to the Magic.
The Scoop: Cook has served as a backup big with Mason Plumlee (rest) and Jerami Grant (knee) held out of action. As a result, he's drawn 21 and 16 minutes in his last two games respectively. He's shot an unsustainable 12-for-15 from the floor in that span, averaging 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists with no defensive stats.

Tyler Cook: Returns to bench
Cook will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
The Scoop: After picking up his first career start in Monday's win over the Cavs, Cook will shift back to the bench as Jerami Grant returns following a one-game absence. Cook should still be part of the rotation as a reserve, though it's unlikely he sees 30 minutes as he did as a starter on Monday.

Tyler Cook: Will make first career start
Cook will start Monday's game against the Cavs, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
The Scoop: With the Pistons resting a number of regulars for a game they have no interest in winning, Cook will move into the lineup at one forward spot for the first start of his NBA career. The former Iowa standout hasn't played much of a role this season, though he has did see 21 and 15 minutes, respectively, over the last two games. In Saturday's loss to Washington, Cook posted five points and four rebounds off the bench.
