Game ETLatest Player News...
Thomas finished Wednesday's 154-105 win over the Kings with 17 points (7-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt) and one rebound.

The Scoop:Thomas didn't check into the game until the Jazz were up 43 points with 10:23 left in the fourth quarter, but his ultra-efficient shooting played a key part in helping Utah establish a new single-game franchise scoring record. A career 42.7 percent shooter from distance, Thomas is a dangerous perimeter threat whenever he's on the court, but head coach Quin Snyder doesn't appear to view the 26-year-old as a rotation option in competitive games.

Matt Thomas: Won't play Friday
Thomas (trade pending) will not play Friday against the Grizzlies.

The Scoop: Thomas' trade from the Raptors hasn't gone through quite yet, so he won't be able to debut until Saturday at the earliest. It's not a guarantee that Thomas will be a regular part of Utah's rotation.

Matt Thomas: Traded to Utah
Thomas was traded to the Jazz on Thursday for a future second round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The Scoop: Thomas joins Norman Powell at the trade deadline as another player heading out of Toronto for a playoff contender out west. The 26-year-old shooting guard has averaged 7.4 minutes per game for the Raptors so far this season, shooting 41.5 percent from downtown on 1.6 attempts per game. Thomas likely won't take on a big role on this Utah team with NBA Finals aspirations, but he'll give the team another option as an efficient shooter off the bench.

Matt Thomas: Finally reaches double figures
Thomas tallied 11 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT) during Wednesday's loss to Detroit.

The Scoop: For the first time all season, the sharpshooter finally reached double figures offensively. Heading into this matchup, Thomas hadn't scored over the past three games and had totaled just two points dating back to Feb. 19. The Iowa State product cracked double figures on seven occasions as a rookie last year.
