Brown agreed to a deal with the Timberwolves on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The Scoop:While the terms of the contract are yet to be announced, Brown will be headed to Minnesota after spending the previous season with the Lakers. In 2022-23, he averaged 7.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.5 minutes across 76 appearances. Brown also shot 38.1 percent on 3.7 three-point attempts per game and should be a solid bench piece for the Timberwolves.

Troy Brown: Moves back to bench
Brown isn't in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Bulls, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: LeBron James will replace Brown in the starting five Wednesday. Brown is averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 19.8 minutes across his previous 24 games coming off the bench this season.

Troy Brown: Pops for 18 in Sunday's loss
Brown notched 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-108 loss to the Bulls.

The Scoop: This may have been the end of the 23-year-old's run in the starting five, as LeBron James returned from his foot injury Sunday and played 30 minutes off the bench, but if it is, Brown went out with a solid performance as he led all Lakers' starters in scoring. He's been a useful rotation piece for L.A. this season, but Brown's fantasy value was erratic even in his expanded role -- he scored in double digits in only five of 14 starts during this latest stretch.

Troy Brown: Scores 12 points in win
Brown finished with 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 29 minutes in Sunday's 111-105 win over the Magic.

The Scoop: Brown hit double figures in scoring for the first time since March 7, but he barely met that threshold and did so while offering little else across the stat sheet. The Lakers seem to value him on the starting unit for his defense and spot-up shooting, but he'll likely struggle to crack 15 percent usage in most games while sharing the floor with the likes of Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell.

Troy Brown: Does little in starting role
Brown accumulated three points (0-8 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks.

The Scoop: Were it not for making a few free thows, Brown would have gone scoreless on the night. He missed all eight of his shot attempts, and while Brown usually isn't quite that erratic in most games, his efficiency remains an ongoing concern. He's converting on just 42.9 percent of his field-goal attempts this season and should only be viewed as a streamer for steals and three-pointers in games where he has a clear path to playing big minutes.
