vs. CHI 115-119 0 QRandle (quadriceps) will likely be forced to miss the remainder of the season, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop:Coach Tom Thibodeau had already ruled Randle out for Saturday's game against the Cavaliers and Sunday's game against Orlando, and it appears as though the 27-year-old will be unavailable for the final week of the regular season. If he's ultimately sidelined down the stretch, Obi Toppin should continue to serve as a starter while Taj Gibson and Jericho Sims see additional run off the bench. Randle had started in each of his 72 appearances this year and averaged 20.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 35.3 minutes per game.

Julius Randle: Ruled out for Saturday
Randle (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Cavaliers, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: A sore right quadriceps has already cost the forward three games, but he's been able to play through the issue and has appeared in each of the Knicks' last three contests. However, during that stretch, he averaged just 15.3 points on 34.9 percent shooting. Katz relays that New York has labeled Randle as day-to-day, and as of now, there are no plans to shut him down for the remainder of the season. In his absence, Obi Toppin figures to enter the starting lineup again, while Taj Gibson may garner an increased role off the bench.

Julius Randle: Grabs 13 boards in win
Randle accumulated five points (1-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one block over 28 minutes during Monday's 109-104 victory over the Bulls.

The Scoop: Randle salvaged what was a terrible shooting night with his rebounding. To put things in perspective, Randle has now shot under 30 percent from the floor in four of his past five games. Over that span, he has contributed a combined three steals and two blocks, highlighting just how empty his fantasy lines can be. While he remains a must-roster player, managers certainly have to be prepared for some wildly inconsistent shooting.

Julius Randle: Erratic from line in return
Randle (quadriceps) finished with 20 points (7-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals across 31 minutes Sunday in the Knicks' 104-102 win over the Pistons.

The Scoop: Though he turned in a relatively typical performance in his return to action following a three-game absence, Randle's poor showing from the free-throw line limited the overall impact of his fantasy line. Though his counting numbers are down across the board from his career-best 2020-21 campaign, Randle's decline in his overall efficiency is perhaps the most notable reason why he's been somewhat of a disappointment for those that invested in him. He entered Sunday with a 51.1 true shooting percentage, a rate down 5.6 points from 2020-21 and also his lowest mark since 2015-16.

Julius Randle: Starting Sunday
Randle (quadriceps) will start Sunday's contest against the Pistons.

The Scoop: Randle missed the Knicks' three previous contests due to a quadriceps injury, but he'll return to action Sunday. It's unclear if he'll be under a minutes restriction, but his presence should mean a lesser role for Obi Toppin, who had drawn three consecutive starts.
