Tristan Thompson: Joins starting five

Tristan Thompson: Moved again, lands in Sacramento
Thompson was traded from the Hawks to the Kings in an expanded three-team trade that also sent Delon Wright to the Hawks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The Scoop: Thompson was originally thought to be going to Atlanta, but he's been re-routed to Sacramento. The Kings are in danger of losing Richaun Holmes in free agency and drafted Davion Mitchell on Thursday, so the organization is balancing out its depth. Thompson's role next season will be determined by what the Kings accomplish in free agency regarding the center position.

Tristan Thompson: Dealt to Atlanta
Thompson was traded from the Celtics to the Hawks on Friday for Kris Dunn, Bruno Fernando and a 2023 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The Scoop: With the Celtics adding Al Horford and Moses Brown in the offseason, Thompson's role was going to be squeezed. He's been shipped off to the Hawks, where he could slot in as the backup to Clint Capela. Thompson saw 20.8 minutes per game last season and averaged 7.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists. His role shouldn't change drastically in Atlanta unless Onyeka Okongwu makes substantial progress.

Tristan Thompson: Posts another double-double
Thompson recorded 19 points (8-13 FG, 3-4 FT), 13 rebounds and an assist across 30 minutes in Friday's win over the Nets.
The Scoop: Thompson was one of four starters that scored at least 17 points for the Celtics, and the former Cavaliers big man also notched his fourth straight game with at least 10 boards -- he has three double-doubles in that stretch. Thompson is averaging 12.7 points and 11.3 rebounds across 26.7 minutes per game during the current series against the Nets.
