Thaddeus Young: Solid all-around effort
Young finished Wednesday's 136-117 victory over the Kings with 17 points (7-10 FG, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, one block and one steal over 24 minutes.
The Scoop: Young struggled to crack the rotation early on but has played at least 20 minutes in each of the Spurs' last four games, and the numbers are telling -- he has scored in double digits in three of those contests while steadily contributing in other categories as well. Young is averaging 11.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals per game in that four-game span.

Thaddeus Young: Plays 25 minutes off bench
Young finished Sunday's loss to the Thunder with 10 points (5-5 FG, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
The Scoop: Young was barely in the rotation to begin the season, but he's taken on a larger role of late with Jakob Poeltl in the league's health and safety protocols. Young played 22 minutes against Dallas on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, six boards, three assists, two steals and two blocks. He then followed up with 12 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocks Friday at Orlando. With Poeltl set to miss at least a couple more games, Young is an attractive streaming option in Week 4, though the Spurs only have three games on their schedule.

Thaddeus Young: Fills it up Wednesday
Young came away with eight points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 109-108 loss to the Mavericks.
The Scoop: With Jakob Poeltl (COVID-19 protocols) set for a stint on the sidelines, Young appears to be headed for a more substantial role. It is unclear whether he will move into the starting lineup for certain matchups, but clearly, it matters not. He has a proven ability to put up numbers across the board, and if he can carve out at least 20 minutes a night, he should have 12-team value.

Thaddeus Young: DNP in season opener
Young was a DNP-Coach's Decision during Wednesday's season opener against the Magic.
The Scoop: Young was dealt to San Antonio in early August in the sign-and-trade that sent DeMar DeRozan to Chicago. While the 33-year-old Young doesn't exactly fit the timeline of the rebuilding Spurs, it's surprising to see him not play at all. He's coming off a revival season in which he averaged 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals. It's tough to blame any fantasy managers for dropping Young in daily waiver formats. Managers in weekly formats will at least have the opportunity to wait and see what happens Friday against the Nuggets and Saturday against the Bucks.
