Starting Sunday
Strawther will join the starting lineup for Sunday's preseason game against the Celtics in Abu Dhabi, Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports.
The Scoop: Strawther will replace Michael Porter in the starting five Sunday, with the latter expected to take a rest day. Strawther is currently competing with Christian Braun for the starting two-guard spot to open the regular season, and a solid preseason could help move him closer to the starting job. The 22-year-old is coming off an inconsistent rookie year in which he showed flashes when getting meaningful playing time, averaging 4.5 points and 1.2 rebounds across 10.9 minutes in 50 regular-season outings.
