Jose Alvarado: Signs multi-year deal with Pels Alvarado and the Pelicans agreed to a four-year, $6.5 million contract Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The Scoop: As is often the case with two-way players, all four years of the deal are not fully guaranteed, but it appears as though Alvarado will stick with the Pelicans through at least the 2022-23 campaign. The signing is a showing of good faith by the Pelicans and a well-deserved reward for Alvarado, who's performed well this season and emerged as a very capable backup point guard. Including Sunday's come-from-behind win over the Lakers, Alvarado has now played double-digit minutes in 37 of his last 38 games. Mar 28 3:59 ET |
