Scores 12 points in preseason debut
Irving notched 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt), four rebounds and an assist across 17 minutes in Thursday's 107-102 preseason loss to the Jazz.
The Scoop: Just like coach Jason Kidd announced before the 8 p.m. ET tipoff, Irving played less than 20 minutes and didn't step on the court in the second half. The veteran floor general should ramp up his minutes in the final two preseason outings against the Clippers and Bucks. Dallas opens the regular season against the Spurs on Oct. 24.
