|Dennis Schroder: Agrees to one-year deal with Boston|
Shroder agreed to a one-year contract with the Celtics on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The Scoop: Schroder turned down a big-money offer from the Lakers during the 2020-21 season, and his decision to instead test free agency proved to be a costly one. The veteran guard will make just the $5.9 million taxpayer exception next season, though the hope is that he can rehabilitate his value and score a more-lucrative deal next offseason. Schroder is coming off of an up-and-down season in Los Angeles, where he averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds across 61 appearances. In Boston, Schroder will likely slot in as the starting point guard in a starting five that could also feature Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Robert Williams.
