The Hornets acquired Okogie and a 2026 second-round draft pick and two 2031 second-round draft picks from the Suns on Wednesday in exchange for center Nick Richards and a 2025 second-round draft pick, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Our View
While the Suns get much-needed help at center, Okogie's outlook may not dramatically change for the better as heads to Charlotte. Okogie had averaged 6.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.6 assists, 0.6 three-pointers and 0.4 blocks over 14.0 minutes per game across 25 appearances on the season, but he recently fell out of the Phoenix rotation. He could find himself behind Brandon Miller, Josh Green, Cody Martin and Nick Smith for minutes on the wing in Charlotte.
