Ball was extended a qualifying offer by the Pelicans on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
As expected, the Pelicans will do what they can to potentially retain Ball. However, he figures to have several suitors in free agency, so there's a chance he's given an offer that the Pelicans feel uncomfortable matching. Ball averaged 14.6 points, 5.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season. Notably, he's been boasting an improved three-pointer. Over the past two seasons, Ball has made 2.7 threes per game at a 37.6 percent clip.Profile
