The Scoop: Young was traded from the Raptors to the Nets on Thursday but will part ways with his new club a few hours after the transaction. | Moving to Brooklyn The Raptors are trading Young and Dennis Schroder to the Nets in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie on Thursday, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. The Scoop: Young has seen an increased role for the Raptors lately, averaging 6.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 21.1 minutes across his last 15 appearances. However, the 35-year-old doesn't seem to fit Toronto's plan of a youth movement and will head to Brooklyn. | Posts well-rounded stat line in win Young totaled 16 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt), six rebounds and six assists across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 118-107 victory over Chicago. The Scoop: Young didn't generate any defensive stats, but he was a key contributor for the shorthanded Raptors with his work as a scorer, rebounder and distributor. The veteran forward's point total was his highest of the campaign, as was his 32 minutes of playing time. After rarely playing at the start of the season and notching double-digit points only once over the first 15 games in which he did suit up, Young has since reached 10 or more points in three of his past four contests while taking on a larger role in the absence of Jakob Poeltl (ankle).
