Won't play this weekend
Doncic (rest) won't play in both of the Lakers' first two preseason games against the Suns on Friday and versus the Warriors on Sunday, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
The Scoop: The Lakers appear to be simply managing Doncic's reps following his EuroBasket run with Slovenia this past summer. With the superstar guard out of action this weekend, Gabe Vincent and Nick Smith should take on a more sizable role in the Los Angeles backcourt. Doncic's next chance to see preseason action comes on Oct. 12 against Golden State.
