The News
Nets interim head coach Kevin Ollie said after Saturday's 101-86 loss to the Timberwolves that Simmons was forced out of the contest due to a knee injury, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. He finished with four points (2-6 FG), eight rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block in 15 minutes.
Our View
When Simmons initially departed the game in the third quarter, the Nets attributed his early exit to left leg soreness, but Ollie offered some more specifics on Simmons' injury following the contest. Ollie noted that the Nets don't plan to send Simmons in for imaging on the knee, though that could be subject to change. Simmons will travel with the team for Monday's game versus Memphis, but his status is in jeopardy pending further evaluation.
