Value daily consistency of Chris Paul with tonight's tough schedule

A lot of today’s primetime players are facing tough matchups with just four games on the docket in the NBA.

When situations like this present themselves, you need to rely on consistency. A high-priced player who posts 50 points on FantasyScore one night aligned with outputs of 40, 28 and 30 might not provide the comfort that a player who scores 36 or 37 on a nightly basis.

Build your lineup around consistency, particularly when that reliability lies in a specific category. Supplement it with players on hot streaks or earning increased playing time.

G Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors
$9,000 salary | 18.0% of cap

Paul is a staple of said stability. The Golden State Warriors’ defense has been stout against the point most of the season, but Paul will score 35 fantasy points or more night after night. He has netted 36 nine times in the last 10 games, and he’s one of these players to build around Tuesday.

C Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets vs. Indiana Pacers
$7,000 salary | 14.0% of cap

Lopez is on a scoring binge of 28.8 points per game over the last six. He has averaged 44.1 fantasy points over the last five, during which he has two games of 50, two around 40, and a low mark of 31.3. The Pacers have been mediocre against the center spot over the last 10 contests. There are other formidable options at center, but the combination of production and the matchup makes Lopez the most attractive center.

F DeMarre Carroll, Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons
$4,200 salary | 8.4% of cap

Carroll has carried the team with point guard Jeff Teague (ankle) banged up. Carroll has posted 44 and 34.8 fantasy points in his last two outings, scoring 23 and 24 points along the way. Teague could sit tonight in the second of a back-to-back set, and Dennis Schroder (toe) is out. Carroll could facilitate the offense again Tuesday.

F Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs
$2,800 salary | 5.6% of cap

Haslem has been holding down center with Hassan Whiteside (hand) and Chris Andersen (knee) out. He scored 30 on FantasyScore in two of the last three games. With so few low-end options to choose from, Haslem is a safe bet for a profit.

G C.J. Miles, Indiana Pacers at Brooklyn Nets
$4,000 salary | 8.0% of cap

The 6-6 guard has scored in double figures in eight of 10 games. He has been particularly lively in the last two with 28 and 26, respectively, while averaging 33.8 fantasy points. Brooklyn is among the worst in the league against the 2 in the last 10 outings. He’s at the ceiling of the low-end players that will help fortify your lineup.

C Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons
$6,800 salary | 13.6% of cap

Horford really hasn’t been a plus player in fantasy for a few weeks. He posted one 40-point night the last eight tilts, with five of the other seven in the 20’s. Detroit has surprisingly been in the bottom five against the position the last 10 games. But Horford’s price is too prohibitive with such suspect production and the fact that Atlanta might rest its stars more having already clinched a playoff berth.
