Game ETLatest Player News...
Gordon is dealing with a minor undisclosed injury and will not suit up for Sunday's preseason game against the Celtics in Abu Dhabi, Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports.

The Scoop:The injury likely isn't anything that would keep Gordon from playing in the regular season, but the Nuggets won't take any chances with the veteran forward in their second game of the exhibition schedule. Vlatko Cancar will start at power forward in Gordon's stead Sunday, and the 29-year-old's next opportunity to suit up during the preseason will come Oct. 13 against the Suns.

Expected for limited run Friday
Gordon is expected to play limited minutes in Friday's preseason opener against Boston, Katy Winge of Altitude Sports reports.

The Scoop: With coach Mike Malone able to try out 19 different players in the preseason, the Nuggets' starting unit of Gordon, Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter and Jamal Murray is expected to play extremely limited minutes. This will likely remain the case until the club gets closer to Opening Night.

Solid play not enough Thursday
Gordon recorded 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 28 minutes during Thursday's 115-70 loss to Minnesota in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Scoop: The entire Nuggets offense struggled in this game, as shown by the fact the team shot 30.2 percent from the field and 19.4 percent from three-point range in this Game 6 loss. Despite the collective struggles, Gordon found a way to make an impact with his two-way play, and he was also one of just three Denver players who scored in double digits in this loss. Gordon has been arguably the second-best player for Denver in this series, and he'll aim to deliver another strong showing in Game 7 at home on Sunday.

Makes history in Game 4 victory
Gordon produced 27 points (11-12 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal over 41 minutes during Sunday's 115-107 win over the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Scoop: Even though Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray get most of the attention for carrying Denver back from an 0-2 deficit, Gordon's performance Sunday can't be overlooked. He became the first player in NBA history to put up at least 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists while shooting 90 percent or better from the field in a playoff game. He's averaging 17.3 points per game while shooting 71.8 percent from the field in the series, and he'll aim to keep the momentum going ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday.

Puts up 20 points in loss Monday
Gordon registered 20 points (8-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Monday's 106-80 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Scoop: Gordon played with tons of energy and tried to spark the rest of the team throughout the game, but his efforts were unsuccessful. This game snapped a three-game streak of Gordon not being able to reach double-digit figures in the scoring column, and Gordon needs to remain a valuable offensive alternative for the Nuggets if they want to have a shot at turning the series around, especially given the struggles of both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter.
