 Drops 20 points in win

The Scoop:Gilgeous-Alexander has unsurprisingly been integral to Canada's undefeated run in the group stage of the Olympics, and he's scored at least 20 points in two of his three appearances. He was particularly effective from the charity stripe Friday and drained several late free throws to help clinch the win. Gilgeous-Alexander should remain heavily involved during the knockout round.

The Scoop: While Greece tried to contain Gilgeous-Alexander, he continued to find a way to score and feed his teammates along the way. The All-Star had a team-high seven assists, but he also led the team in blocks as well. The 26-year-old will likely continue to serve as the No. 1 option for Canada, and his ability to score and find his teammates will play an extremely important factor in the squad's success.

The Scoop: After coming in second for the KIA NBA Most Valuable Player for 2023-24, Gilgeous-Alexander is set to focus his offseason efforts on the Olympics. In a team littered with NBA talent, Canada has expectations to compete for a medal in Paris. Even alongside players like Jamal Murray, RJ Barrett, Luguentz Dort and Andrew Nembhard, Gilgeous-Alexander should operate as the squad's go-to scorer.

Goes down swinging
Gilgeous-Alexander ended Saturday's 117-116 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 36 points (14-25 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two blocks across 43 minutes.

The Scoop: Gilgeous-Alexander did everything he could to get the Thunder over the line Saturday, pouring in a game-high 36 points. While he ultimately fell short of his goal, enough can't be said about how good he was this season. The Thunder are just starting their journey, and with so many draft picks to work with, there is an opportunity for them to improve their roster sooner rather than later. Despite the disappointing playoff exit, Gilgeous-Alexander is poised to continue his ascension and will likely be in the MVP discussion again next season.

Impressive outing not enough
Gilgeous-Alexander racked up 30 points (12-22 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals across 43 minutes during Wednesday's 104-92 loss to Dallas in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Scoop: Whether the Thunder struggle offensively or not, Gilgeous-Alexander will always get the job done. Unfortunately, he couldn't do everything on his own Wednesday, and he came up short of carrying OKC to a Game 5 victory despite filling out the stat sheet admirably. With the Thunder's back against the wall, Gilgeous-Alexander will need to be at his best on Saturday, as the Thunder will aim to avoid an early playoff exit on the road in Game 6. The star floor general is averaging 31.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game in the current series against Dallas while riding a four-game streak of appearances with 30 or more points.
