A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that Butler and the Chicago Bulls have agreed to a five-year contract that could be worth about $90 million. The person spoke Wednesday on the condition of anonymity because the deal has not been finalized. The total value of the contract could wind up being a little higher depending on where the salary cap number is set. But they won't know until July 9, when NBA contracts can be signed.
The Scoop: Butler also holds an option for the fifth year. The deal comes on the heels of a breakout season in which Butler made his first All-Star team and was selected the NBA's Most Improved Player.
