The Pelicans and Holiday have agreed to terms on a new five-year, $126 million contract. The deal contains a player option for the final year and includes incentives that could increase the total value to $150 million.
The Scoop: Pelicans GM Dell Demps went record stating retaining Holiday was his top offseason priority, and he was indeed true to his word. The 27-year-old would have had plenty of suitors had he reached the open market after averaging 15.4 points, 7.3 assists and 1.5 steals last season, his fourth with New Orleans after spending his first four NBA campaigns with the 76ers.
