Pistons owner Tom Gores referred to Andre Drummond a "maximum guy" during a recent interview. sportando.com
The Scoop: The Pistons can extend Drummond's rookie contract with a max offer this offseason, a preferable alternative than waiting to match offers when he hits restricted free agency following the 2015-16 season, but this all hinges upon whether Drummond accepts the contract extension before the October 31 deadline. If the Pistons make Drummond their designated player, they could sign him to a five-year max extension, meaning he'd spend at least the first nine years of his career in Detroit. It'll be very interesting to see what Andre decides to do this offseason, but he has certainly established himself as a max-player.
