Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel said while he didn't discuss David West's contract option with him during his exit meeting, his gut feeling is that West will opt in for next season. Indiana Pacers on Twitter
The Scoop: West reportedly spoke about "next year" during his exit meeting, implying that he will pick up the player option on his contract worth $12.6 million for the 2015-16 season. West will be 35-years-old next year, and with his numbers steadily declining over the past three years, it's unlikely he'd command such a high salary on the open market. He ended the 2014-15 season with averages of 11.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals and blocks per game on 47.1 percent shooting. At this point in his career, he's more of a deep league guy.
