The Scoop: After starting the final two regular-season games while the usual starters rested, Kornet was sidelined for the first two postseason games while rehabbing a calf injury. Even if he gets the green light, Kornet isn't guaranteed a significant role, especially if Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis remain healthy.

Puts up 22 points in Game 3 loss
Reaves ended with 22 points (8-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and four steals across 41 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 loss to the Nuggets in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: Reaves had two subpar showings in the first two games of the series, and even though he bounced back in Game 3, his efforts were not enough to lift the Lakers to victory. Reaves will aim to replicate these numbers in Game 4 on Saturday, as the Lakers need to win to avoid a first-round exit. Reaves is averaging 14.7 points per game in the series while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from deep.

Scores 26 in Game 3 defeat
James produced 26 points (12-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals across 42 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 loss to the Nuggets in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: James had another strong showing, but as has been the trend throughout the series, the Lakers couldn't maintain their lead and ended up losing, falling into an 0-3 deficit. James has done everything in his power to counter Denver, reaching the 25-point mark in all three of his appearances in the series while averaging 26.3 points, 9.7 assists and 6.7 rebounds across 40.3 minutes per contest.

Significant role yields little offense
Batum provided four points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 125-114 victory over the Knicks in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: Batum continues to do very little on offense despite playing meaningful minutes, highlighting the 76ers' lack of depth. Although he did manage three combined steals and blocks, the team would likely love for him to have scored more than four points. Given the 76ers have very few options when it comes to somewhat reliable producers, Batum should continue to play a significant role moving forward.

Available to play
James (ankle) is available to play in Thursday's Game 3 versus the Nuggets, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

The Scoop: As is usually the case, James was carrying a probable tag prior to this update due to lingering left ankle soreness. James is not expected to have any restrictions as the Lakers attempt to pick up their first win of the series.

Unlikely to play Friday
Livingston is listed as doubtful for Friday's game versus the Pacers due to a non-COVID illness.

The Scoop: Livingston has only logged four total minutes through the first two games of Milwaukee's first-round series against Indiana, so his expected absence shouldn't affect the team's rotation.

Gets in work Thursday
Coach Joe Mazzulla said Thursday that Kornet (calf) is feeling good and more will be known about his injury Friday depending on how he responds to work being done on the court, Jay King of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: Kornet has already missed the first two games of Boston's first-round series against Miami with a calf injury. While Kornet could return to action if the series is drawn out, the Celtics appear to be using Al Horford as their sole bench big.

Won't play Friday
Prosper is out for Friday's Game 3 against the Clippers due to an ankle sprain he suffered in Thursday's practice, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.

The Scoop: Prosper's absence shouldn't significantly affect Dallas' playoff rotation. The rookie forward's next chance to suit up is Game 4 on Sunday.
