Reaves (groin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The Scoop: Reaves is dealing with a groin injury, which will result in him missing a second straight game. The team will likely turn to Jake LaRavia and Dalton Knecht to help shoulder the load in the backcourt. The next opportunity for Reaves to return will be Saturday against the Hawks.

Reaves (groin) will not play Wednesday against the Spurs, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
The Scoop: Despite going through shootaround, Reaves was unable to shake his questionable tag and will miss a second straight game. His next chance to play comes Saturday against the Hawks. In the meantime, the Lakers will likely use a committee approach to soak up Reaves' minutes with guys like Marcus Smart, Jake LaRavia and Dalton Knecht in the mix.

Nurkic is expected to occupy a starting role for the foreseeable future due to Walker Kessler's season-ending shoulder surgery.
The Scoop: With Kessler out the past two games awaiting a diagnosis, Nurkic drew starts and averaged 7.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 26.5 minutes. It seems like he'll see minutes in the high-20s to low-30s most nights, though it could be heavily dictated by game flow. Blowout losses, like Sunday's 126-103 defeat at the hands of the Hornets, could lead to fewer minutes for Nurkic. In those cases, more run could be in store for Kyle Filipowski and Taylor Hendricks. It's possible the team also calls up two-way center Oscar Tshiebwe for some spot run. For his career, Nurkic is averaging 11.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals in 24.3 minutes.

The guard holds averages of 31.1 points, 9.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.0 three-pointers through seven regular-season contests.

Barlow (elbow) will not play Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
The Scoop: This will be Barlow's fifth consecutive game on the shelf, and he remains without a timetable for a return. Head coach Nick Nurse acknowledged Sunday that Barlow's injury is taking longer to heal than expected, but he hoped to get another update early next week. It doesn't sound like Barlow will be available for the upcoming Saturday-Sunday, back-to-back set.

George (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
The Scoop: George has yet to make his season debut for the 76ers, but he's inching closer to a return. However, the veteran forward can be considered doubtful ahead of Saturday's matchup against Toronto until the Sixers provide another update on his status.

McCain (left knee injury recovery) will not play Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
The Scoop: McCain's season debut was delayed until Tuesday while he completed his recovery from September right thumb surgery, but his absence for the second leg of a back-to-back set will be the result of maintenance for his left knee, which he had surgically repaired this past December. In his debut outing during Tuesday's 113-111 loss to the Bulls, McCain was limited to 15 minutes and finished with zero points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two assists and one rebound. The second-year guard could see his playing time pick up a bit once his knee and thumb surgeries are further in the rear-view mirror, but the eventual return of Paul George (knee) could prevent him from holding down a consistent 20-plus-minute role once Philadelphia is at full strength.

Embiid (rest) will not play Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
The Scoop: Embiid, who produced 20 points (7-21 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists, three steals and four blocks in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 113-111 loss to the Bulls, will expectedly miss the second leg of this back-to-back set for rest. With Embiid sidelined, Adem Bona and Andre Drummond will likely soak up the bulk of the center minutes.
