Game 4 in doubt
Game 4 in doubt

The Scoop: Lillard was able to return to Game 3 after suffering the injury and finished the contest with 28 points (6-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 12-12 FT), eight assists, three steals and one rebound over 45 minutes. Final confirmation on his status Sunday will presumably come closer to game time. AJ Green, Andre Jackson and Malik Beasley would all be candidates to see increased minutes alongside Patrick Beverley in the backcourt should Lillard indeed need to sit out.

The Scoop: Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang on with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 deficit the Suns are currently in right now. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.

The Scoop: Durant bounced back from a subpar showing in Game 2, at least for his lofty standards, and he had a strong showing in Game 3, but once again, his contributions were not enough to lift the Suns to victory as Phoenix fell into an 0-3 deficit. Durant will need to be at his best if the Suns want to avoid the sweep in Game 4 on Sunday. He's averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the series.

Efficient performance in Game 3 win

The Scoop: Gobert's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though the increased offensive responsibility in Game 3 was directly related to Karl-Anthony Towns being limited with foul trouble. Gobert also has two double-doubles in three games during he current series, averaging 17.0 points and 13.0 boards per contest.

Gets hot late in victory
Irving finished with 21 points (8-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 101-90 win over the Clippers in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: Despite a sluggish start to the game, Irving delivered when it mattered, helping the Mavericks to an emphatic victory. Both he and Luka Doncic are at the peak of their powers at the moment. A repeat performance in Game 4 will see Dallas on the cusp of an impressive first-round victory.

Woeful in Game 3 loss
George racked up seven points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt), five rebounds and five assists across 30 minutes during Friday's 101-90 loss to the Mavericks in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: George was non-existent in the loss, putting up his worst performance in quite some time. The Clippers managed to hang around but were never really in the contest. George is going to have to be much better when the two teams line up again Sunday if the Clippers hope to return home with the series tied up.

Ejected in fourth quarter
Westbrook was ejected from Saturday's 101-90 Game 3 loss to the Mavericks with 6:10 to play in the fourth quarter. He finished with one point (0-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.

The Scoop: Westbrook let his frustrations get the best of him in this one. He was already carrying a technical foul when he proceeded to shove both Luka Doncic and P.J. Washington on the same play. Despite his outburst, a suspension is unlikely.

Starting Game 3
O'Neale will start Friday's Game versus the Timberwolves, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

The Scoop: Grayson Allen (ankle) will sit out Game 3, but he's considered day-to-day and could be back for Game 4 on Sunday. In 14 starts during the regular season, O'Neale averaged 10.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.9 three-pointers.

Available to play
Anderson (hip) is available for Friday's Game 3 versus the Suns, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

The Scoop: Fantasy managers should exercise caution before plugging Anderson into lineups, as the forward didn't touch the floor despite being cleared to play in Game 2. It remains to be seen if he'll rejoin the rotation for Game 3.

Shines with 40-point double-double
Middleton recorded 42 points (16-29 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds and five assists over 41 minutes in Friday's 121-118 overtime loss to Indiana in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: Middleton did all he could to help lead Milwaukee to an overtime victory, including hitting the game-tying shot at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime and also tying the game late in overtime, but his 40-point double-double was spoiled in a losing effort. Middleton led all players in Friday's contest in scoring while ending as one of two Bucks with 10 or more rebounds to go along with a handful of assists in a well-rounded outing. If Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) remains out for Game 4, look for Middleton to continue to provide a lift to Milwaukee offensively.
